Ich habe mit Professor Dr. Max Otte heute früh (26. Januar 2022) über seine Kandidatur für die Wahl des Bundespräsidenten am 13. Februar gesprochen. Er ist sehr besorgt über die extrem vergrößerte Spaltung unseres Landes und sieht bislang keinen anderen Kandidaten, der alle Fragen rund um diese Spaltung anspricht. Seine Kandidatur, sagt er, sei ein Signal, das in diesem Zusammenhang gesetzt werden müsse. Sein Amt als Chef der WerteUnion lässt er bis zur Wahl am 13. Februar ruhen. Würde die CDU einen echten Gegenkandidaten zu den bisherigen aufstellen, dann würde er aus Respekt auf seine Partei auf die Kandidatur verzichten. Seine Mitgliedschaft in der CDU ist er angesichts des vom Parteivorstand initiierten Ausschlussverfahrens bereit zu verteidigen. Er denke, dass er sich zur Wehr setzen werde...
