Former SAPOL officer and wannabe tough guy Andrew Allan Jaunay has received a suspended prison sentence for assaulting a teenage boy in Whyalla. Jaunay and another officer, Sean Hobbs, denied attacking 17 year old Matthew Odgers in 2013. Odgers, however, was able to activate his phone during the incident and captured damning audio recording of Juanay. The recording not only captures Juanay's antagonism and threats, but also his boasts that he and Hobbs would simply deny the assault. The footage also captures Juanay's rude and unprofessional attitude towards Odgers' mother after she arrives at the scene.
In the footage above, Juanay (above right) can be heard warning Odgers (above left) "I'll come and hunt you down" if the boy dared make a complaint about the assault.
“Now if you want to tell your mum that we f***ing belted you, guess what, go right ahead ... we will say we didn’t do it,” says Jaunay.
Despite Juanay's disgraceful behaviour and his subsequent denial of guilt, last Tuesday he received a very lenient three-month suspended jail term, subject to a one-year good behaviour bond.
