The Function of Cannabinol is the second track of Dwayne Warr’s (Dwarr) second album. Dwayne Warr wasn’t a great technical guitarist but at this point his youthful angst was pushing out some doom sludge oozing of youthful vitality that gave birth to some weird off tempo tunes that were strangely right at home with the old skool ghouls of doom.

This is the edgy stuff of youth in the struggle of the flesh with light and darkness. When one has been enticed into seedy flea bag hotels for the cornucopia of elicit drugs with their hollow promise of peace, enlightenment, or escape only to wind up empty, sick and despairing. In this shadowy zone some languish as hallowed out zombies who escaped to the dark recess of their minds, or sever the silver cord to drift off in the ether, still other stumble from one tragedy to the next until their self-destruction reaches its fullness, but other such as Dwayne find the oasis in this desolate place.
