August 2020 Belarus elected Alexander Lukashenko for the sixth time. Lukashenko warned Belarus against NATO, as did Donald Trump. The girl who was running against him was not qualified but ran for office in place of her husband, a dissident who had been jailed for illegally protesting after the police disbursed the crowd which had grown to dangerous numbers (tens of thousands in the street).
