Join Shell Presto as she draws a selkie for the
"Whispers at Waterfront Wharf" Drawlloween
prompt. A selkie is like a mermaid, only part
seal instead of part fish.
This Inktober drawing also conveniently works
as one of her Public Domain Redesign drawings,
in which she takes a character in the public
domain, this time Maureen Marine, and puts her
own spin on their costume and backstory to fit
into her and her husband's Ascension Epoch
universe.
She'll discuss Maureen Marine's bizarre
storyline and her overhaul for the Ascension
Epoch's Martian War Chronicles. There's also a
special public service announcement about
mermaids if you watch until the very end!
Like many of Shell's drawings, this has ties
back to her work on her books in the Ascension
Epoch universe. Learn more about the books I've
co-written and illustrated, as well as the
Ascension Epoch in general, here:
