At the end of line 12, some editions use 'loss', others 'cross'. Even though 'cross' makes more sense in so far as 'loss' on line 12 is a duplication of the last word of line 10, none the less the original manuscript appears to use 'loss' on line 12, so that's what you get. The use of 'cross' is not without controversy given that it introduces a Christian theme into the sonnet that is not present in any other sonnet.

And the pronunciation of 'sheds' there on line 13 - again looking at the original manuscript it is spelled with two e's, even though modern renderings give it just the one, but it seems a long e sound was intended so as to rhyme with 'deeds', which is what I did here.

Why didst thou promise such a beauteous day
And make me travel forth without my cloak,
To let base clouds o'ertake me in my way,
Hiding thy brav'ry in their rotten smoke?
'Tis not enough that through the cloud thou break,
To dry the rain on my storm-beaten face,
For no man well of such a salve can speak
