North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has appeared in public for the first time in three weeks.
After weeks of intense speculation about the health of Kim Jong Un, North Korean state news agency Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Saturday that the North Korean leader attended the completion of a fertiliser factory in Suncheon, near the capital of Pyongyang, with other senior officials, including his sister "Kim Yo-Jong" since after his last appearance in April 11.
The State media broadcast video of Kim at the dedication ceremony, adding that he was greeted with 'thunderous applause' from the crowd. Kim's reemergence together with his sister and heir apparent, Kim Yo Jong, puts an end to speculation that the North Korean leader was seriously ill - or even dead.
KCNA said Kim cut a ribbon at the ceremony on Friday and those that attended the event “burst into thunderous cheers of ‘hurrah!’ for the Supreme Leader who is commanding the all-people general march for accomplishing the great cause of prosperity.”
