Good afternoon ….
“I am a practicing surgeon and I work in Saskatoon.
I do not represent any group.
I do not represent the SHA
I do not represent the University of Saskatchewan
I am directly addressing parents and children.
I speak directly to you as a physician, a surgeon and a fellow human being.
I am very pro-vaccine physician. I am only too aware of the great scourges of mankind, including smallpox, that have been eliminated or made innocuous by vaccination.
I am also pro vaccine for my own family, including myself.
During the covid-19 pandemic I have continued to work, actually looking after patients in my clinics and in operating rooms.
I want to start by thanking my colleagues, the nurses and physicians who have risen selflessly and splendidly to the task of caring for covid-19 patients in Saskatoon and around the world.
I also want to thank the blue collar workers, the truck drivers, the grocery store workers, the small business owners, the farmers, who have been working tirelessly to supply us physicians with the essentials of life. Their exposure to peril and their rising splendidly to the needs of society at this hour is as valuable as health care workers.
And arguably much more valuable than government and public health officials.
And now I shall directly address parents and their children.
Parents all want the best for their kids.
I am a parent and recently and joyfully, a grandparent.
I too want what is best for my kids.
In medicine, there is a sacrosanct principle before any kind of drug or treatment or intervention
is administered to the public –
it is the principle of informed consent.
This principle is very simple and yet has truth, science and humanity at its heart – very simply,
the person to whom the drug, vaccine, treatment or intervention is administered must always make the patient fully aware of the risks of the medical intervention, the benefits of the intervention and if any alternatives exist to the intervention. This should apply particularly to a new vaccine that has never before been tried in humans.
This new, m-RNA vaccine is now being administered at “warp speed” to children as young as 12 and 13.
Parents must give informed consent to this new vaccine.
Before the vaccine is rolled out to children, both children and parents must know the risks of m-RNA vaccines to children, any benefit to children and any alternatives to vaccines.
The principle of informed consent is being consistently violated in this province for the m-RNA vaccine for our kids.
I have not met a single vaccinated child or parent who has been adequately informed and who then understand the risks of this vaccine or its benefits.
Parents and children must at a minimum know the following before they give consent:
1. That the m-RNA vaccine is a new, experimental vaccine design and has never been used in humans before.
2. That the m-RNA vaccines have not been fully authorized by either Health Canada or by the CDC in the USA or in most nations around the world. In Canada, they are under “interim
authorization.” In the USA, the CDC has them under “emergency use authorization.” Full vaccine approval takes several years and multiple safety considerations – this has not happened
with the mRNA vaccines.
3. That in order to qualify for “emergency use authorization” there must be an emergency. For the elderly population, for the vulnerable, for health care workers, there is of course an
emergency – several thousand people in Canada have died of covid-19. But the mean age of those who have died is 83.8. There is therefore a strong case for vaccinating the elderly, the
vulnerable and health care workers.
Covid-19 does not pose a threat to our kids. The risk of them dying of covid is less than 0.003% - this is even less than the risk of them dying of the flu.
There is no emergency in children.
4. That children do not readily transmit the covid virus to adults – and adults should be immune or vaccinated anyway. In many countries teachers had significantly lower rates of covid-19 than
the general population.
5. That the m-RNA vaccines have already been associated with several thousand deaths in the Vaccine Adverse Reporting System maintained by the US government. These appear to be
unusual, compared to the total number of vaccines administered, but they are a strong signal and cannot be ignored. As of 4 June 2021 and in the period of only of few months, 5,888 deaths
have been associated with the m-RNA vaccines. These are associations and not verified yet as causations, but in any other drug or vaccine they would have been sufficient to stop the whole
program – a pause, a regrouping and certainly a big signal to not give it to our kids.
