This is my halting attempt at using a translation of the gaelic lyrics to 'Casadh an tSugain' and a rough approximation of the melody. On the one hand the song is about a boy who loves a girl and is hindered by class differences, with her mother getting him to help her twist rope so she can shut the door on him. In another version, 'twisting the rope', is a means from some crafty sisters to get rid of a sleazy home invader. I prefer the first interpretation.
