The original Star Wars trilogy threw a curve ball to the audience in the Return of the Jedi when Luke learns Leia is his sister. Never before in the writing of the scripts was this alluded to and it did make the kissing scenes in the previous movies a bit cringe worthy. Well, Leia was originally supposed to be Luke's sister, but Lucas changed it all for Jedi. Why did he do that?
