Stop-Motion Transformation of Takara MPM-6 Movie Masterpiece Ironhide. Takara forgot to install the back of his head. It could up to four months for me to get the part, so I figured being timely is more important and it’s not too noticeable. It also has a faulty clip socket on the left side that doesn’t stay clipped. Not too big a deal. I could really use some material to work with, so consider loaning me a figure, particularly if you’re a vendor. On the horizon will be Azalea and that insane samurai toilet bot by Toy Wolf. And later on MP-43 (Assuming I can figure out how to get one.) and of course MP-44 once I find a buyer for my kidney.
Transformation notes:
My video can’t express what a pain in the ass this thing is to stitch together. The only part I couldn’t show properly is the hidden double-segment joint that is inside the hood halves. By the time you’re in truck mode, the hidden segments should be fully extended. In robot mode they are collapsed a bit. There is a kind of useless extra ratchet joint just below the top “shoulder” joint that needs to be just SO. Same with the elbow joints - must be as shown. By leaving the fender bits until last, you keep a portal open where you can stick you finger so you can press the hood tabs down, because they WILL pop loose, and frequently. You can actually tab in the tabs at the front of the windows pretty late in the process since they’re just going to come loose anway..

If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using the Chrome plugin called "Frame by Frame for YouTube". It turns your , and . keyboard keys into single-frame movement keys. Every step of the transformation is documented in ..
