AWU National Secretary resignation is 'significant news'

AWU National Secretary Dan Walton resigning from his position today is “pretty significant news” for both business and the labour movement itself, says Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

“Dan Walton has probably been really one of the most outspoken but also one of the real statesmen for the union movement over the past few years,” Mr Greenwood said.

“And some of his views have probably gone against hardcore Labor Party policies, such as his support for the gas industry and also even calling for Australia to investigate having a nuclear industry here.”
