The 'barbershop' was the gas chamber itself, a 12'x12' room in which the Nazis packed 16 Jewish barbers and 140 naked Jewish women. After Bomba and his crew gave the women very nice haircuts, including their wives and sisters, they left the room for 5 minutes, and the women were gassed.
