I replicate Nile Red's synthesis of elemental bromine from aqueous alkali bromide, 16% HCl, and trichloroisocyanuric acid a.k.a. trichloro-s-triazinetrione obtained from 3" pool chlorinating tablets. You can see his video that I took the synthesis protocol from by clicking the link at the bottom of the description. A typical run of this synthesis requires the materials listed below. Since I did my run from bromide that I had recovered and recycled from previous reactions my measurements were different.
