2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division arrived in Vlissingen, Netherlands beginning a nine-month rotation as part of the regionally allocated forces supporting Atlantic Resolve. This is the fifth rotation of an armored brigade deployment to Atlantic Resolve. 2ABCT, based out of Fort Hood, Texas, deployed with approximately 3,500 Soldiers, 500 tracked vehicles and 1,200 wheeled vehicles. The presence of an armored brigade in Europe strengthens the combat credible deterrent capabilities available to respond to potential crises and is evidence of continued U.S. commitment to NATO Allies and partner nations.
