One of the things I learned growing up was spotting animal paths. Dad would point them out and have us look for them too. They were an alternate route from the main path as well for us. This is a survival skill for two main reasons. Hunting and water. These paths lead somewhere that meets the animal's needs. Water being one of them. They use them often so they are a hunting opportunity as well.
