Moses and Yeshua had 2 x 40 days each of note. Moses had 2 sets of 10 commandments and Yeshua had 2 periods of 40 days 1) 40 days of fasting and temptation within and during the fall feasts and 2) later at the resurrection he was on earth 40 days and 10 days remained after he ascended until pentecost / shavuot. Counting 49 /50 days from the exodus to sinai / horeb shavuot (counting of the omer from exodus to sinai) There are 10 days of awe after the 40 days of moses 2nd ascension and descent and 10 days from trumpets to yom kippur. Counting 2 x 40 days of 2 sets of 10 commandments at sinai and horeb, this equals 120 days to yom kippur including 10 days of awe. Yeshua also had this 40 day fast and ten days of awe mirroring the marriage feast of the lamb. ( "lent" is a false feast and at the wrong time of year)

Technically Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) begins on the 18th of September as 10 Tsihri (some say in October) Moses descended with the 2nd set of 10 commandments on Yom Kippur after 2 x 40 days. (He tended sheep for 40 years the Israelites wandered for 40 years in the desert) The 1st on Sinai and the 2nd on Mount Horeb. the '10 days of awe' ended on 10th Tishri. (49 days from the Exodus preceeded both Sinai and Horeb) 2 x 40 days and the last set of 40 days began on Chodesh Elul Yeshua also fasted for 40 days in the fall feasts (Mark 1:13; Matthew 4:1–11; Luke 4:1–13)
