"Both Parents for All Children™"
Please take a moment to watch the movie "Because you are mine" (DE - „Weil du mir gehörst“ / FR - “Parce que tu es à moi”).
The film focuses on a very important topic of Parental Alienation. A subtle form of child abuse often occurring when Family Courts after separation of parents rejects the 50/50 Equal Shared Parenting - Alternating Residence (FR - Résidence Alternée) model awarding physical custody to only one parent reducing the role of the other parent to only a visitor in child's life.
A gender bias ideology that incentivizes the way of thinking that a child is a property and belongs to someone. An approach that often allows for the custodian parent to use a child as a weapon of blackmail against the other parent.
"A child should never be deprived of his natural human right to family life and equal access to both parents. Nor does anyone have the right to decide which of his parents' love has more value."
Please visit www.FAD.lu and support our cause for Résidence Alternée to become a legal default in Luxembourg.
FAD - Fathers Against Discrimination a.s.b.l. (www.FAD.lu) has been created to become a platform of dialog promoting gender equality of chance for both parents, to stop violation of children’s rights and to assure their well-being.
Our objective is to protect children by removing possibility for either parent to use them as an instrument of blackmail during separation or after divorce. Behavior that often leads to disastrous effects inflicted on the children by their own parents through Parental Alienation (PA).
Parental Alienation is categorized by a subtle but a severe child abuse. The results of psychological research and empirical studies in the field have described Parental Alienation as an "unacknowledged form of family violence" and confirmed long-term mental health consequences for children who experience it.
For a child having equal access to both parents is an essential part of family life. Separation from a father or mother has irremediable negative effects on the upbringing, future relationship, health and social inclusion. Equality between parents must be guaranteed and promoted from the moment a child arrives.
As an organization, we promote the positive impact both parents have on the upbringing of their children. We stand against any type of bias and discriminatory practices that are not respectful of these rights and therefore we put all our efforts to make equal physical shared residency 50/50 Alternating Residence (50/50 Résidence Alternée) the legal default and a starting point for all custody proceedings after separation of parents in Luxembourg.
In addition to promoting equal physical shared residency by default, FAD is strongly recommending to acknowledge the danger of Parental Alienation when handling divorce custody proceedings. As a society our responsibility is to take every possible measure to protect the children.
Our legal advisers and experts remain available for discussion. We are in a position to provide real-life Parental Alienation case testimonies, scientific evidence and examples of psychological empirical studies confirming that equal physical shared residency is the most efficient model assuring emotional stability and the well-being of children after parents’ separation.
Yours Sincerely,
Luxembourg Parents & Grandparents
