A quote from the book The Myth of German Villainy:
“In this landmark speech, Hitler also announced that National Socialist Party (DAP) would be renamed the “National Socialist German Workers Party” (NSDAP), though they continued to call themselves “National Socialists.” (The term “Nazi” was not used by the National Socialists to describe themselves. The term “Nazi” was used in the Jewish controlled media as a pejorative term with which to ridicule, demean and slander the National Socialists, rather like the term “kike” for a Jew. the term actually derives from a first name, “Ignatz,” commonly given to peasant boys in Bavaria and Austria. Ig-”natz” or “Nazi,” meant country bumpkin or simpleton, like “Billy Bob” or “Bubba” in the United States. “Those National Socialists are just a bunch of Natzis.” It was not an acronym for National Socialism, as is commonly believed. The term “Nazi” was first used by the Jewish journalist Konrad Heiden during the 1920’s to ridicule the National Socialists, and was then taken up by the International Jewish journalists and propagandists.)”
