History of the Water Nymphs, the original Mermaids.
John and Goose do a deep dive on the folklore of the water nymphs, and find out that their lore is actually in the lore of other mythological beings, such as the mermaids. They have deep lore within the Greek God era.
According to Paracelsus, undines aren’t human and don’t have a soul. Marrying a human is the only way to get one. Somehow, tying the knot grants them an immortal human soul, though it shortens their life. There are three different races of water nymphs: The Naiads, The Nereids, and The Oceanids.. Paracelsus is the first person to mention undines in his 1658 book, Liber de Nymphis, sylphis, gnomes et salamandris et de caeteris spiritibus. Here, the undine becomes the personnification of the element of water.
This is the second part of our 12th podcast on soundcloud. The first part is the SCP water nymph which we covered already. If you want too watch that before this, that might get you caught up, but this can be watched on it's own. If you would like to listen to the podcast on soundcloud, the link will be below, as well as the rest of our social media pages. Thank you so much for watching this, and let us know if there are any other folklore that you would like us too cover.
