Was I Right About the Snap/Apt Ubuntu Debacle?

A few months back I made a video about the ways Ubuntu is losing favor with many Linux users who formerly loved it. One aspect of that video was talking about a discussion question regarding Apt and Snap which many people have said I am wrong...but it turns out that the Chromium package in the new Ubuntu will be merely running a snap install through the apt command...is that much different?
