The media needs more balance in reporting and a broader range of viewpoints represented at every level and position in every newsroom. In recent years, I have not felt proud to be a member of the media. I'm sure there are other journalists who feel the same way.

I found myself reading news stories that I didn't believe were the full truth or told only part of the story, and I began to fear that I was contributing to the fear and division in this country by continuing to practice this profession. It was a real strain on me and I no longer want to do this job.
