It took twenty years for the meltdown at the Santa Susana Field Lab site to be substantially reported on at all by U.S. news agencies. This is the first news report that detailed its chilling radiation leakage far too long after the cancer damage had been done.

The more that one looks into the much purported safety of nuclear energy the more that one sees it as a catastrophe-in-the-making kind of a scenario... I mean that literally, too. The highly dangerous waste produced by this means of 'energy production' is far too risky to merit the 'unlimited production of energy' that nuclear material is said to generate.
