1967 seems to have been a seminal year, and when I saw this again after about 45 years (!), I was amazed to find that I still remembered a lot of it - particularly the large hatch through which the tomb was accessed.
Of course, time has not been kind to the cast. Deborah Watling and Roy Stewart (who has a strange role as Toberman) both passed away relatively recently, followed by Deborah's sister, Dilys; I was surprised also to realise that I was watching a young Clive Merrison.
Due to constraints of studio and budget size, there were limits to what could be achieved but the special effects of the frozen cybermen still seem chilling (pardon the obvious pun) even after all these years.
Also in the cast were 1960s regulars Cyril Shaps, George Pastell, Aubrey Richard and George Roubicek (watch out for Roubicek's outrageous American accent as pilot of the spacecraft, which, of course, is never seen), plus Shirley Cooklin as Kaftan. Finally, we note the presence of the Cyber Controller with his oversized head!
Again, uploaded in reverse order for ease of viewing. Enjoy!
