"About the apath, that's exactly what happens in totalitarian societies and how the psychopathic regime continues on for decades sometimes. That's the most important lesson by the way from Natzi Germany. Evil exists all the time. It is by being apathetic or believing that it doesn't exist (Evil tries to do that by gaslighting the population) that it can grow bigger and bigger unharmed. It is because of those members of society that remain indifferent to evil that it keeps growing until you get organizations like ISIS or any other extremist ideology ending up ruling whole countries. My experience with those devil scums has brought me to realize that the core of gaslighting is about convincing us that evil is not real, that it does not exist at all and we're just imagining it. That's why we lost our ability to discern evil later on. But we're born with the knowledge and the ability to know good from evil. We have to remove the poisonous scum to go back to our original programming."
As usual, "Natzi Germany" is used as the de facto example epitomizing evil.
