Could it really be happening? Could the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, be on the verge of confounding his critics?
Is he about to agree a new or refreshed deal with the EU that he can then put to MPs and win the day with?
That prospect seemed almost impossible just a few weeks or even days ago.
According to one to the most ardent Tory Brexiteers, Steve Baker, talking to the BBC:
"Most of us, including me, overwhelmingly want a deal. We have got to be capable of getting there through a withdrawal agreement.
"The problem with the previous withdrawal agreement," he continued, "is it was capable of leaving us trapped in the orbit of the EU, a declining satellite of the EU with no benefits from leaving.
"Boris has had a dramatic shift towards a free trade agreement that would leave us a self-governing nation … So now really, the devil is in the detail … I'm really looking forward to being able to vote for a tolerable deal but, until we get the text, I cannot tell you what we are going to do."
And a group of some 18 Labour MPs have written to the EU asking them to work as hard as they can towards a deal.
Then there are other Labour MPs who have said they will take a serious look at anything Boris brings back.
The trouble for them, is that there have been rumblings in the Labour Party int..
