We went on a family vacation to Big Bear Lake in Big Bear, California. I went birding a couple times a saw about 50 different species of birds and photographed most of them. The highlights were the Lazuli Bunting, Black-headed Grosbeak, Green-tailed towhee, White-headed Woodpecker, Williamson's Sapsucker and the Western-wood Pewee. Saw a few life birds on this trip which I was excited about. Overall we had a great trip and I would recommend Big Bear for birding!
