The US Congress is dealing with UFOs today. For the first time in decades, the unidentified flying objects are the subject of a hearing in Congress.

Senior Defense Department officials are to answer questions from MPs on the Counter-Terrorism, Counterintelligence, and Arms Control Subcommittee.

Following the open portion of the hearting, the subcommittee will hold a closed and classified briefing on the matter.

Last year, government officials from the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force submitted a declassified version of a classified report on the subject to Congress. It was a paper from the Ministry of Defense in cooperation with secret services.

The working group was established with the aim of “discovering, analyzing and cataloging unexplained phenomena in the air that could potentially pose a threat to US national security”. Committee chair Carson said Americans need to know more about “these inexplicable events.”
