Okay, I have 40 minutes of birds feeding...tldw... One way to shorten is to take directly the Rexing .MP4 files and import into a video editor. I can cut into two 20 minute segments and overlay them on the timeline with a cross fade filter. In other words, at time 0, the second track starts mixing in from time 20:00 (with 0% visibility); the beginning of the second half. So, at 10:00 minutes here, we are seeing 50% of both halves - e.g. birds ghosting in and out.
(If you're stuck on windows, you could do a lot worse than the AVS editor)
