We have talked about Amazon’s Rekognition in the past, but new headlines have forced it to the top of the stack again. In a letter from Congress Jeff Bezos has been condemned for not replying to a request to explain why his program is so racist.
Is this just more saber rattling by a toothless Congress and Senate or has it finally gone over the line of racially profiling their constituency? He has two weeks to reply…but does it really make a difference or is this just another hollow threat against a tech titan that will fall on deaf ears while he laughs his way to more billions?
