This is the Handbrake configuration on the latest Vauxhall Crossland X (Elite Nav) SUV & apparently the Vauxhall Grandland X SUV, too.

If you have a couple of cups in the cupholders, then the best way to use the Handbrake, is to have a Passenger who can do it for you.
This is a Right hand drive model & ironically, the Left hand drive model has this same configuration reversed.
Why can't they just switch the handbrake layouts between the R/h & L/h models to make the Handbrake accessible to the driver?
The car also has that "Stop/Start" button which, if you forget to turn the Stop/Start system Off before you set off, whips the steering wheel out of your hands each time the engine shuts itself down.
I consider the "Crossland X" & "Grandland X" models a Health & Safety liability & I do not recommend purchasing either unless you would like covering in a Hot Drink while you are driving.
Yes, it's a Cat hair. Our youngest Cat "Teefer"-Tiger, just loves jumping in the Car before I jump out ... Little sod. lol
