What happened to ATLANTIS? New evidence seems to indicated that the Richat structure in Mauritania Africa is indeed the location of the fabled lost sunken Atlantis.
The sinking of Atlantis has been one of the most enigmatic mysteries in archeology and cultural anthropologists. If indeed, it can be verified that Atlantis is the Richat structure, it would be one of the most important discoveries of the centuries. To add to the mystery, we also discovered that the map of Herodotus (450 B.C.) can be configured in a 3D globe with a much more accurate topography. In fact, it's unbelievable how accurate Herodotus was with his map that also points out Atlantis in Africa. When configured to a world globe, the suggested location of Atlantis lies precisely where the Richat structure would be -- simply amazing!
Old dynastic Egypt began when they assimilated with the Nubian culture, which became Egypt's first black Pharaohs. Outside, of the Egyptians and the Dogon people (Mali) having legends of Atlantean ancestry, Plato wrote in Critias that the surviving Atlanteans became Egypt's first rulers. Does this suggest that the Nubians were of Atlantean origins, and that indeed the land and the poeple of Atlantis is West African?
There is also some compelling evidence that the people of Atlantis, may have had not just dark complexion but also blue eyes, at least some. This is a trait that is still present today in certain islands like Melanesia, though it's possible that the DNA heritage is completely different (Melanesian's have traces of Denisovan DNA and Atlantean mtDNA lineage is unknown).
It seems that catastrophe, sinking of Atlantis happened the end of the last mini Ice Age (Younger Dryas), around 10,500 B.C.. Reasearchers like Graham Hancock have also demonstrated that around that time the Sphinx points to the constellation Leo, suggesting part of the Giza complex, and perhaps even the pyramids were built around that time.
If that wasn't enough, there are also legends ..
