This is the first time that the Amur (Siberian) tigers have been recorded near the lake. The Amur tiger is the largest and most northern subspecies of the tiger on the planet. The main range is located in the south of the Russian Far East. An independent group of these wild cats lives in the forests of southwestern Primorye, where it is under reliable protection in the Leopard Land national park. Cats are carefully watched by 400 automatic cameras, forming the largest network of cameras in Russia. According to the latest data, 31 adult Amur tigers and 10 kittens were recorded in the protected areas of Leopard Land. Here is the highest density of the Amur tiger in the Far East.
