Resident Evil 2 (Pt 4): Neo Makes His Way Through the Sewers to the Underground Lab

Shortly after entering the sewers, Neosekken witnesses Claire and Sherry get seperated from each other, forcing Neo to try and find a way to get to Sherry before something happens to her.

On his way to Sherry's location, Neo uncovers more documents and journal entries from various sewer workers that detail of some activity involving Umbrella and Chief Irons being conducted both within the sewers and somewhere further underground. On top of that, Neo runs into a woman who turns out to be Sherry's mother, Annette.

Pointing a gun at Claire, Annette tries to interrogate Claire for information, but when Claire reveals that she's been with Sherry and she is currently looking for her in the sewers, Annette reveals to Claire the cause of the outbreak in Raccoon City: an internal scuffle involving her husband, William Birken, and Umbrella, and the latters' attempt to take the "G-Virus" bioweapon from the former. Said scuffle also resulted in William, with the help of his G-Virus creation, transforming into the very monster that's been hunting Sherry across the city, much to Claire's horror.

Hearing Sherry scream in the distance, Claire and Annette split up to go look for her. Eventually, Claire finds Sherry, although it's clear that William managed to get to her and place an embryo inside her body. Afterward, Neo guides Claire and Sherry past the sewers and into a mysterious factory that has a large elevator that leads deep underground. Taking the elevator down, the two are ambushed by William, forcing Neo to fight the mutated man off until he falls.

Eventually, Neo arrives in what appears to be an underground laboratory...
