LEO STRAUSS was probably being humorous and well-intentioned, but in one response he introduces a fundamental confusion --- the notion that Jews and Arabs are both 'Semites' and therefore can't be 'anti-Semitic'. This has been a powerful trope, frequently used by those who seek to eradicate us. The sophistry that Arabs can't be anti-Semitic because they're 'Semites', descended from Abraham, is EQUIVOCATION (taking a word or phrase and changing its meaning slightly so that it means something else. Or you're using one word or phrase instead of another to hide the true meaning of what you're saying.)
