The simplistic advice to just get quiet enough to hear your inner voice can be so basic as to frustrate the lesser man. Of course one need not wonder if this is what the author intended all along, because he in fact states it himself. Perhaps you yourself ARE meant to be the acting force of another man's will. What more could you do if you can not act upon your own will, or even hear your own will to act upon.
Despite his recommendation of not adhering to any protocol, he does offer 3 tests through which you can know that you have NOT gotten quiet enough to hear that inner voice. For the aspiring ubermensch, this should be enough. This and time to test, and finally KNOW if you have contacted this voice or not.

This chapter yet more practical tools to see if your genuine self, or other 'little' selves are doing the talking within you. Yet as he demonstrates distaste for routines, and practices, I can not help but consider my own experience with this up until and including the most present guidance I have received. Like he explains, once you HAVE heard it, and know your way to it, you need not practice to hear it further. I feel an original video coming on, inspired by the exact words Simpson lays out, and my foundational intent for creating this channel. To offer practical ways listeners of YOUR KIND (with eyes to see and ears to hear) can benefit, and make their aim true!
