PART 1
Jessica Leia takes the stage and explains how this month’s song: “Kisses” came to be. It was all because she heard a phonetically fun phrase: ‘kisses illicit kisses”, and at that moment she knew she would use it someday in a song. A song, it ends up, that is all about nothing. Well ok, it’s basically about kissing, but Jessica doesn’t really recommend kissing anyone because really, well, it’s just disgusting.
Enjoy as Jessica explains the realities of how filthy our mouths really are and how kissing is essentially nothing more than a fabulous way to transfer large amounts of bacteria. (Bacteria that grows in your body and stays there for the rest of your life. Eww!)
Although the lyrics in this song are singing about kisses and hugs, Jessica will not be pitching it to Hershey for commercial use because she takes her chocolate consumption far too seriously to support milk chocolate that tastes like barf.
Meanwhile, on a field trip to the dentist’s office, Jessica asks her dentist what he thinks about kissing and it ends up that he thinks her mouth is clean enough to kiss. Sadly, he refrains from doing so due to social norms. What a gentleman. And he would never judge anyone because they have bad breath. But Jessica will, so brush those teeth, pop in some sugar free gum and enjoy this week’s segment of “Me and My Song”!
PART 2
Enjoy this month’s song: “Kisses” which will, this time, be performed SOLO by Jessica Leia on her groovy FS Wurly organ sound patch. It is, after all, a wurly durly kinda song - about kissing and hugging - and it probably sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard before.
Kinda sexy and kinda playful, “Kisses” keeps a strong syncopated beat underneath countless trills tossed in the treble. The bump and grind in the groove creates a fun, off kilter drive that almost feels like a 5/4 time … but isn’t. It’s a one chord song in the bass but uses minor pentatonic scale notes on top which makes it sound kinda bluesy and kinda rock n’ rolly all at the same time! Meanwhile Jessica dances around the keys and sings a sultry song about smoochin’ and rubbin’!
PART 3
Jessica Leia and the band head over to Mega Sonic Studio to record the basic tracks for this month’s song: “Kisses”. After setting up and taking a family picnic screenshot photo, the gang gets to work actually recording the music.
There’s a little bit of uncertainty about where to pull out all the stops and a little bit of demeaning each other about some of the noodling around that’s goin’ on. But mostly everyone is on task as they exercise their musicianship skills AND their rights as Americans … I just thought I’d throw that in there …and that’s my right as an American. Speaking of throwing that in there, how about a little a dog butt in 4k as a grand finale and then we can call it a wrap at yet another fabulous recording session here on “Me and My Song”.
PART 4
In this week’s segment of “Me and My Song” Jessica will give a quick recap of all of everything that’s been happening here this month on the show - then you get to enjoy this month’s song: “Kisses”!
Kinda sexy and kinda playful, “Kisses” keeps a strong syncopated beat underneath countless trills tossed in the treble. The bump and grind in the groove creates a fun, off kilter drive that almost feels like a 5/4 time … but isn’t. It’s a one chord song in the bass clef but uses minor pentatonic scale notes on top which makes it sound kinda bluesy and kinda rock n’ rolly all at the same time! You’ll hear a driving bass guitar, sexy and playful electric guitars and double kicking drums all bringing this song to life as Jessica Leia dances around on her organ and sings in a sultry voice a song that’s all about smoochin’ and rubbin’!
