Surely now we feel, at least in part, responsible. Afterall it has been through our patronage and tolerance
of these increasingly heedless, self-serving and corrupt institutions, over a period of several decades, that has led to this debasement of our society.
There is no perfect world, no utopia. We know that. We can only strive towards what the founders called “a more perfect union”. We don’t know if our efforts will have any effect. Indeed it seems unlikely they will.
But, to the extent we are able, we want to pass on the hope and belief that life in this world can, and indeed should, be something other than a totalitarian nightmare. That is an outcome that, for the sake of future generations, we don’t want.
