Suspected Tornado Touches Down Near McCook

A suspected tornado touched down on the outskirts of McCook in Nebraska’s Red Willow County on Friday, May 17. Footage shot by residents shows what appears to be a rope tornado moving to the north-west of the town. The National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning for McCook shortly beforehand. The weather service later told Storyful it could “tentatively say a tornado occurred between Culbertson and McCook,” based on reports, pictures and videos.
