Hey guys, I was surprised to learn that me and my ancestors never existed. That is at least what the online newspaper Welt.de claims. Of course this is a rhetorical trick where they can claim that they only mean that the stereotypical German did not historically exist, or that Germans were always a very diverse groups with many tribes. Everybody knows that, however. Why do they not write that then? Why do they always phrase it like that and why is it only towards Europeans that this kind of rhetoric is used?
