Cops With Gifts For Kids Harassed and Abused At Chicano Park
Chicano Park is promoting the political ideology of the radical Chicano Movement of the late 1960's. Hatred of police is not a recent development or something that was started by perceived grievances against the local San Diego police. It's a major feature of their ideology, which is a mixture of Chicano racial nationalism and Marxism/communism. This has been a part of the ideology since the 1960's.
The two people verbally attacking the two police officers are probably Brown Berets, a kind of paramilitary group that serves as an enforcer for the militants, who run the park. Chicano Park is a San Diego City park, which the militants occupied in 1970 as the first part of "Aztlan", the American Southwest, which they claim as their national homeland.
One of the four co-founders of the Chicano movement , Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales of Denver, in 1969 praised the killing of cops as a revolutionary act, and said that it was not a crime. Corky was a favorite to the radicals of Chicano Park and when he died they (illegally) spread some of his ashes around the statue of Emiliano Zapata to make the park "sacred".
Chicano Movement Co-Founder: "Take Pride in Killing Cops"

The followers of Reies Tijerina, another Founder in New Mexico, actually shot two law enforcement officers in a raid on a courthouse in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico. Both officers were Hispanic. The purpose of the raid was to kidnap a (Hispanic) district attorney, who was threatening to criminally charge Tijerina. One of the officers was killed just before Tijerina was to be tried in court, presumably by Tijerina's followers so that he would not testify in the trial.
The group of Chicano militants who occupy Chicano Park resembles a political cult. The two militants verbally assaulting the police have been indoctrinated into a radical ideology and such ideologically-committed people will not change their minds due to reason or kindness from the police.
They teach the kids at an early age to hate law enforcement, as well as other perverse anti-American themes. The police should target those in the neighborhood who are less ideological. They may have been trying to do that, but were intercepted at the park by these two extremists.
This criticism does not apply to all Hispanics, Latinos or Mexican Americans, in general, or even to all those who Identify as "Chicanos". It is only about a small group of political extremists, who control this park. A tactic of the radical Chicanos and their anti-fa and communist allies is to defame any critics of their extremism as racists, fascists and white supremacists.
