The European Commission has been working on the introduction of a digital identity card with a QR code since at least 2018. The ID2020 foundation (NGO) and the GAVI Alliance, both affiliated with the United Nations, were also set up for this purpose. According to these institutions (with vaccination as a steppingstone to digital ID) every institution from governments and customs to banks could share your individual data and (purchasing) behaviour anywhere for the rest of your life. This will create trade in personal data and data sharing. Your data will then become private property. The revenue model behind this data trade is called ‘Surveillance Capitalism”. For the government, ‘smart policing’ is so possible that your own car will report you to the police if you drive a little too fast.
