Helen Mar states about Joseph Smith and polygamy the following after her father Heber told her about polygamy and only this: "The next day the Prophet called at our house, and I sat with my father and mother and heard him teach the principle and explain it more fully, and I believed it, but I had no proofs, only his and my father's testimony. "
Helen never states she MARRIED OR WAS SEALED to the prophet Smith as deceptively repeated for decades by purported Mormon Scholars. What I find suspicious is that Helen Mar was informed of plural marriage after her father returned from Pittsburgh where Sydney Rigdon resided . Heber told her because of the rumors circulating about his polygamy. Therefore I suspect a link between Pittsburgh Sydney Rigdon and the formalization of polygamy. At this time Joseph Smith was not on friendly terms with Rigdon. Also this may have been the time the plot to kill Smith was finalized as my Video Trapped by the Mormons explained the entire year before Smiths death, the assignation plot was freely discussed and threatened by Mormon Insiders, including the Higbees, Fosters, and Bennett, Rigdon's promoter for claiming the head of the Mormon Church. Here is a handwritten statement purported to be Helen Mar discussing her purported marriage. I cannot decipher the handwriting and no Scholar uses this primary source as a basis for claiming Helen was sealed or married to Joseph so it might be a forgery the Mormon Church does not want to discuss or use. There is another document I am looking for, but the above documents are used by the Mormon scholars as proof of her and Smiths polygamy and as I said....they neither mention it or support the outrageous claim.
