I Sin and God Answers My Prayers. Does God always answer prayer?
You must be very careful about attributing something to God and especially attributing something as an answer to prayer to God. Here is an extreme example to illustrate the problem, but keep in mind that on a less severe level it applies to you. So a Christian decides to murder a person he has gotten angry with. While waiting for that person to come by a predictable route traveled daily, the Christian asks God to help them by making sure that person comes by today too and in time for him to kill him. Then the person comes by and the Christian murders the man. He might claim that God wanted him to murder the man, because God answered his prayer by bringing that man about on the route while the Christian was there. So he absolves his own guilt by claiming it must have been God's will. After all, he prayed and it happened, therefore, God must have done it. You see the problem.
The problem, expressed in another way is, "Does God answer my prayer when I am sinning?" or "Can God answer my prayer when I am sinning?" God can answer my prayer when I am sinning, but not in the way I may want it to be answered. If I am sinning, I am an enemy of God. God will not support what I am doing, except if it leads to my repentance, doing what is equitable, and becoming holy.
We can take this further and ask, "When something good happens to me is it an answer to prayer?" this is a different question and the answer is without a doubt, "Not always." Watch the video for the specific answers to this question.
