In this video I demonstrate the action of a mix of hot, concentrated nitric and perchloric acids (generated in-situ by the addition of potassium perchlorate) on amorphous iridium powder precipitated from barium iridate using sodium borohydride. Iridium is extremely resistant to attack by acids. When I did a google search on "mix of acids that will attack iridium" this mix is what came up although they said sodium perchlorate; hopefully the K salt is fine too. I can confirm that this at least attacked the iridium even if I am unsure as to the nature of the final product of the reaction.
