If you take the Ghostbusters 2016 movie and combine it with Ghostbusters Sanctum of Slime what do you get? this game...
...So, how bad of an idea is that, well Ghostbusters 2016 was a reboot of a loved series that the fans did NOT want to be rebooted, a reboot instead of the much deserved sequel that was never produced, and on top of that the world building and humor of this movie created a world not only unlike past Ghostbusters movies, but something most Ghostbusters fans did not enjoy. Add to that this movie has the additional stigma of calling it's critics sexist for not liking it, the movie LITERALLY insulted Ghostbusters fans.
...All this added to the game play of Sanctum of Slime, a Ghostbusters game that very few Ghostbusters fans enjoyed, the game play was simple but not fun, and the entertainment value was almost non-existent. With obscenely tiny on screen text and just not being fun... Ghostbusters Sanctum of Slime was a digital download product mostly ignored by Ghostbusters fans, ignored because no one wanted it.
...and worst of all Sanctum of Slime came out shortly after the amazing GHOSTBUSTERS The Video Game for Xbox 360 and PS3, a game loved by most Ghostbusters fans, and an all around amazing game. (So anyone who knows about these games would know revisiting the game play of Sanctum of Slime is a very bad idea)

...So our end result is a game based on a movie no one wanted, that actually insulted Ghostbusters fans, mixed with game play from a Ghostbusters game no one liked, seriously they could have designed this after an actually popular Ghostbusters game, but instead they picked the game that wasn't even worth a digital download, and you have a worst of both worlds situation, stupidly put together by people who should have known better.

So what happens to a combination of bad ideas like this, it goes to the discount bin, if it's lucky.

In all fairness to this game, after using the worst of both worlds line, this game did add new characters in stead of the unpopular characters from the unpopular movie. However, I have never seen anyone whom was won over by the characters in this game.
