10 HACKING tools you MUST know about & protect yourself from! 🔌👨🏻💻
I remember seeing a guy speak, may have been at Defcon, about how he was hired by a CEO to test security and hack his corporation. After weeks of failing at everything, he went and bought some 32gb or 64gb USB drives at a time when 1gb and 2gb drives were the standard size.
He loaded those with auto-executing hacking tools, then put a bunch of homemade porn pics he found on the internet on them. Then he scattered them around the building where employees entered, ate, or went out for smoke breaks.
That worked. Employees found them, brought them into work, plugged them in and rummaged through the porn pics while the hack tools silently took over their computers, the entire network and finally the CEO's computer.
The CEO paid him well and had a nice talk with employees about how they were tricked into Trojan horsing their own company.

You may find a phone charger lying around, and not realize that it's actually a nefarious computer itself.
I just got back from DefCon where I explored all kinds of hacking tools that are disguised as everyday items you might regularly use. I go through 10 important hacking tools you NEED to know about, so that you can better protect yourself!
The takeaways:
Don't borrow cords from strangers!
Turn off WiFi when you're not using it!
Don't auto-join WiFi networks!
