todays episode of Trabbi und Mi! wasn't really planned in the lineup for the series. the actual intent was to go to Regensburg to go check out the Christmas markets in the city center.
but there are some very interesting historical connections that made me put this trip in the series.
one is the fact it has been an inhabited place since the stone age with celtic graves being found that date back some 5000 years or more.
the second is that it was also the other terminus point of the roman limes and was occupied and erected under the rule of Caesar Marcus Aurelius sometime around 175 a.D.
the third is that it is home to the seat of regency of the house of Thurn&Taxis, founders of the modern postal system
