The true story of how a Humming Bird made me rethink my world view and gave me relaxation and peace.

The SGI I was working on failed for no reason. Apparently it rebooted just fine. I have never seen a computer fail in this manner. The screen "zapped" and went black with a horizontal purple rectangle in the center of the screen. The rectangle took up about half the surface area of the screen. Inside the rectangle was a field of turbulent noise with many segmented sine wave patterns undulating rapidly, but the rectangle itself had a clearly purple color overall. The image still is etched in my mind.
