At best, social media platforms always get hacked, and at worse, they willingly sell your information to the highest bidders, which too often falls in the hands of organized crime or the CCP, where the result ends up being the same, with criminals passing themselves as private companies you never did any business with, or as government agencies, if not bank employees, where trying to steal your money is the goal, if not identity thieves, gathering enough information on you, to acquire and load up credit cards in your name, which you will be legally responsible for. Governments everywhere, should make it illegal by law for social media to demand phone numbers and private information, to protect everyone's privacy. Also, never reveal your present location, nights out, or vacations on social media, as 4 out of 5 burglars will find their victims on social media, with people dangerously showing off. Even private messaging on social media is not secured, as their staff can read all your private messages at any time.
